Bibliology (Self-Paced)
The Bible from Inspiration to Translation
What does it mean that the Bible is inspired, inerrant, and authentic? How do I know I have what was actually written? Why are there so many translations?
Have you ever wondered about the history, authenticity, and reliability of the Bible?
We read it, we study it, we memorize it. But how did this book come from the mind of God into our hands? What about the translations... are they trustworthy? How can we know? What if something was lost along the way through all the transmission and translation?
This self-paced workshop is based on the book From God to Us, by Dr. Norman Geisler and Dr. William Nix.
In this workshop, Dr. Norman Geisler thoroughly examines these questions both in general and specifically related to both Old and New Testament. Through this training, you will better understand the inspiration, inerrancy, transmission, reconstruction, and translation of this fundamental foundation of our faith.
"It's kind of popular today to say, "Well, the Bible is without error on essential matters, but not on trivial matters." Thomas Aquinas said that even trivial matters are hearing from God...This contemporary view says that you can trust the Bible on essential matters but not on trivial matters. If you can't trust the Bible on trivial matters, you can't trust it on essential matters either." - Dr. Norman Geisler, "Norm Geisler: Not Qualified" the movie
This self-paced workshop establishes the reliability of the Bible from God to us. This is fundamental training for anyone who wants to understand the complexities of the history of the Bible, to appreciate the simplicity of its message, and to understand the trustworthiness of both the text and content.
